Well, it's been a full week.

This coming Thursday, Kavi will be 38 weeks, which is considered a full term baby. But on the physical development side, he'll still be preemie, as they are a little slower on their physical development. His due date was April 17th (40 weeks), which is probably when he'll start acting and looking more like a newborn.

He's been bearing down and grunting a lot. I mean a LOT. Which could be an indication of acid reflux. He's been spitting up more, and his diapers aren't as "stoolie". He's been decreasing his intake, as well. He used to be able to take 60 cc's, now he doesn't usually go past 50...but then there are times where he'll go all the way to 70! We're going to make our follow up appointment with our pediatrician this week instead of next. We want to see if there's something we can do for him to not do so much bearing down, and if there's anything going on with the guy we need to be concerned about.

We're excited - my sister's going to come next weekend to visit us for a few days. She'll be the first person on my side of the family to see Kavi, so we're very excited. My parents will be coming towards the end of May. It's so nice to have family and extra hands around!

Here he is, striking a pose during a nap:

Definitely a stressful time. The 'Kavi ESP' you have developed (and continue to develop) will serve you well. Ellen and I have found that if there is something that doesn't seem right, listen to your instincts. Better to be wrong and overreactive at this point in the game than not.

Cheers!

Ditto... being an early-berd, you don't wanna take any chances w/ anything... Once he gets older (especially when he can talk) you'll find yourself saying this alot:
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah..."
"Okay then, stop crying."
"Okay..."
That's a pretty common routine w/ the kiddies & me. As far as the pose:
AWESOME!!! It's the safety dance, yo!
